Worldline and Unowhy announce their e-education solution meets the 2015 and 2016 requirements of the French Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Research.
Paris, 17 June 2015 - Worldline (Euronext: WLN], European payments and transactional services market leader, and Unowhy, a young innovative company, support the digital equipment program for colleges and schools with SQOOL (SQOOL.fr). This customizable e-education solution satisfies the requirements published by the French Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Research ("MENESR") under its 2015 call for projects and the 2016 CARMO (guidelines for access to educational resources via mobile devices).
Suitable for all school grades from nursery school to high school final year, SQOOL provides a genuine e-education ecosystem covering touch tablets, course management software suites, a series of mobile devices and access to digital educational resources.
Now complying with the latest requirements of the French Ministry of Education, Higher Education and Research, this "made in France" solution has been tested by over 8,500 pupils in Saone-et-Loire schools and has been designed by and with teachers as part of the "TED" testing program so as to facilitate comprehensive management of school classes.
SQOOL provides access to web-based and publishers' content in a controlled manner. Backed by a secure education cloud, this solution also hosts pupils' data in France, while blocking adverts and commercial offers from major internet companies in accordance with CNIL (French computer and freedom commission) requirements. SQOOL functions online and offline allowing users to back-up courses and exercises set by teachers automatically, store pupils' work and share content between teachers and pupils.
Claude France, Worldline France's chief operating officer, said: "Data security and user ease of use underlie our daily concerns at Worldline. With our expertise in data security and hosting, particularly for legal, banking and health data, Worldline brings additional know-how to our alliance with Unowhy thereby ensuring SQOOL effectively meets the key challenges facing the educational community".
Jean-Yves Hepp, Chairman of Unowhy, said: "Worldline is a leading partner allowing us together to build a complete ecosystem on behalf of the entire educational community while focusing on improving education. Backed by SQOOL, we now have the wherewithal to establish a strong e-education business in France".
